Who we are

Kids Libris is run by Advanced Pedagogy Pte Ltd, Singapore. If you have any question about your information, or want to reach our Data Protection Officer, email us at kidslibris@advancedpedagogy.com.

Who Kids Libris is for

Accounts are for grown-ups: parents, grandparents and carers aged 18 or over. Children use Kids Libris with their grown-up, on the grown-up's account. We don't knowingly let children create their own accounts. If you think a child has, please tell us and we'll delete it.

What we collect

• Your account: a username, your password (stored scrambled, so nobody can read it, including us), and your email address if you choose to give one.
• Your books: everything you create in the Studio: the characters, places, story plan, words, title, the names you put on the cover, and the pictures and narration made for your book, plus choices like the age band and art style.
• Credits: your balance and a history of what credits were added and used.
• Keeping sign-in safe: when someone signs in wrongly or creates an account, we note the internet address it came from, for up to two hours, so we can slow down anyone trying to guess passwords.
• Reading counts: when a signed-in family reads a book in the Library, we add one to that book's read count (at most once an hour per reader).

Cookies and your browser

We use one cookie, to keep you signed in, for up to 30 days. Your browser also remembers a few small things on your own device, such as light or dark mode, sound on or off, and the page you were last working on. They're cleared when you sign out. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers.

The AI helpers

When you ask for ideas, pictures or narration, we send the part of your story needed for that request to a trusted AI service, which makes the result for you. We choose these services carefully, and may change them as better ones appear.

The names you put on the cover are never sent. The story itself is, including any names you give your characters, so we suggest first names or made-up names in stories.

Where your information is kept

We use trusted cloud providers to host Kids Libris, keep its database, and store pictures and narration. Some of them may keep data outside your country. Pictures and narration are stored privately and only shown through links that expire within an hour.

Sharing

• Private by default. A new book can only be seen by your family.
• The Library is optional. If you ask to share a book, our team reads it first, including a check that there are no surnames or other identifying details. Once it's shared, signed-in families can read it: its title, pictures, words, narration and author line. You can stop sharing at any time.
• Share links. You can choose to make a private link to a finished book, to send to family and friends. Anyone with the link can read the book and see its author line, without an account. You or our team can turn a link off at any time. Links aren't listed anywhere, and search engines are asked not to index them. We count how many times a link is opened, but not who opened it.
• Our website. We only show a family's book on our public website with that family's written permission.
• Never sold. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your account and books for as long as you use Kids Libris. You can delete any book yourself, which also deletes its pictures and narration. To delete your whole account, email us and we'll remove it, with all its books and credit history.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email kidslibris@advancedpedagogy.com.

Changes

Kids Libris is in beta and will change. When this notice changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app.
